Suzanne Cowan, PT, DPT, OCS

Suzanne joined MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in 2004 after completing her doctorate in physical therapy with a musculoskeletal concentration from Drexel University. She received her undergraduate degree in psychology with a minor in biology from Binghamton University in 1998.

Suzanne completed an orthopedic residency with Evidence in Motion in 2014. She is a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists and holds a competency-based certification in vestibular rehabilitation through Emory University. Suzanne is a member of the orthopedic section and vestibular special interest group of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).

In addition to clinical practice, Suzanne has served as a continuing education board member for the APTA of MD since 2006. She is passionate about education and has been involved with the Environment of Learning education committee through MedStar over the past five years, initially starting as a mentor to new therapist interested in Orthopedics and now serves as the Mentor Coordinator for the Orthopedic Manual Pod. Her clinical interests include rehabilitation of non-operative and post-operative orthopedic conditions, post concussive syndrome and vestibular disorders.
