Marine Corps Marathon Training Program

MCMMedStar Sports Medicine is the proud Sports Medicine Partner of the Marine Corps Marathon. We are pleased to offer the following options and services to help you prepare for the "people’s marathon."

  • Free runner education sessions presented by physicians, physical therapists, and athletic trainers specializing in running health and medicine. Each session will start with a 30 minute training run lead by Michael Wardian (see below for more details).
  • Free organized training runs along the MCM course in September and October in partnership with DC-area running specialty stores, Pacers and Potomac River Running.
  • If you live in the Washington DC or Northern, VA suburbs and are looking for additional training guidance in a group setting, please consider one of our partners, Pacers and Potomac River Running.

MedStar Sports Medicine FREE MCM Education & Training Program

The MedStar Sports Medicine Marine Corps Marathon Education & Training Program sessions all begin with a 30-minute fun run led by Washington’s own world-class marathoner, Michael Wardian, at 6:00 p.m., followed by an interactive education program beginning at 6:40 p.m. (Attendees need not participate in the run to enjoy the education session).

Congratulations to this year's marathon participants! While registration for the marathon is closed, there are still spots available for the 10K. The marathon starts in Arlington, VA and the 10K starts on the National Mall- both end at the Marine Corps War Memorial.
